The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) revealed on Thursday that coordinated military operations, conducted with allied partners, resulted in the elimination of approximately one hundred armed combatants in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat.
In an official statement, the military highlighted that the targeted strikes were directed against members of the coalition led by the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The operations included 13 airstrikes that successfully destroyed six armored vehicles and a pickup truck used for logistics and mobility.
The statement emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday, reaffirming the military’s commitment to intensify its counter-insurgency efforts across multiple regions. Military officials underscored the disciplined and resolute approach of their forces, emphasizing ongoing collaboration with international partners to sustain these critical operations.
A separate communiqué from the Africa Corps detailed the destruction of numerous militant vehicles during the engagements. The corps also noted that one of its drones intercepted and neutralized a vehicle transporting ammunition and military supplies, further crippling the operational capacity of the armed groups.
The Africa Corps described the joint efforts as highly effective, framing them as part of a broader strategy to dismantle the infrastructure and logistical networks of militants operating in the region. Officials confirmed that such operations would continue unabated, with a focus on striking militant positions and seizing their equipment.
