During this official visit, General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani in Nouakchott. The encounter took place in the presence of Morocco’s Ambassador to Mauritania, Hamid Chabar, as confirmed by an official statement from the FAR General Staff.
On the same day, General Berrid visited the Mauritanian Ministry of Defense, where he engaged in discussions with Defense Minister Hanana Ould Sidi. At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister presented the General with the National Order of Merit (Commander Grade) on behalf of the Mauritanian President.
Later, General Berrid and Mauritania’s Chief of Staff co-chaired the sixth session of the Mixed Military Commission. Military officials from both nations highlighted the exceptionally positive outcomes of their defense cooperation, citing tangible achievements as evidence of a robust and strategic partnership.
