In a strategic effort to strengthen social cohesion and ideological resilience, the League of Ulema, Preachers and Imams of the Sahel (LOPIS) convened a specialized training seminar in Niamey this Friday. Organized in partnership with the Fusion and Liaison Unit (UNFL), the initiative specifically targeted religious affairs officials across Niger.

Strengthening ideological defenses in Niger

The workshop, centered on the theme “The construction of intellectual immunity and the deconstruction of radicalized discourse,” aims to equip religious leaders with the necessary tools to identify and counter extremist narratives. By fostering a deeper understanding of intellectual immunity, the program seeks to protect communities from the influence of radical ideologies that threaten regional stability.

This session represents a proactive step in Niamey to empower local religious cadres. Through these discussions, participants are encouraged to promote moderate interpretations and provide a robust intellectual framework to safeguard the youth and the broader population against divisive rhetoric.
