N’Djamena — World Vision Tchad has officially unveiled its ambitious national strategy for 2026-2030, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to transforming the lives of the country’s youngest citizens. During a high-profile press conference, key stakeholders including media representatives, technical and financial partners, and government officials gathered to discuss the roadmap designed to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with a special focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable.

The newly launched strategy integrates three critical pillars: humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding. This holistic framework aims to address the multifaceted challenges facing children in Tchad, including persistent poverty, malnutrition, climate-related crises, and recurring humanitarian emergencies. By bridging urgent relief efforts with long-term development initiatives, World Vision Tchad seeks to create lasting solutions that empower communities and protect the rights of every child.
aligning with continental and global goals
The strategy is firmly rooted in both continental and international development agendas, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). It prioritizes human capital development, social protection, climate resilience, and educational advancement through programs like Unlock Literacy, which focuses on early reading skills. Additionally, the strategy emphasizes child protection, maternal and child health, and community-based resilience-building to counter the impacts of climate change.

Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision based in Dakar, described the strategy as “bold and innovative.” She emphasized the need for strong partnerships, grassroots mobilization, and cultural sensitivity to ensure that every child in Tchad not only survives but thrives. “Children in Tchad deserve more than just survival—they deserve the opportunity to flourish,” she stated.
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a “historic moment” for the organization and the children of the country. He highlighted that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, aiming to reach millions of vulnerable children. “Our goal is clear: by 2030, we want every child in Tchad to be safe, well-nourished, educated, and able to reach their full potential,” he affirmed.
He also underscored the critical challenges facing Tchad, where nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. These conditions underscore the urgency of intensified efforts to support the most marginalized communities, particularly in the face of recurring crises and environmental pressures.

Following the strategy’s unveiling, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a call to action, urging national actors—government agencies, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media—to collaborate closely. They stressed that achieving the strategy’s ambitious goals will require a united front to convert today’s challenges into sustainable opportunities for Tchad’s children.
