On the afternoon of Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Baga-Sola, young people from the Lake Region united under the Coordination of Youth Associations of the Lake (CADELAC) to express their unwavering support for the Defence and Security Forces (FDS). These forces are at the forefront of the relentless battle against the Boko Haram insurgency in the region.
An unyielding show of support amid ongoing threats
Mahamat Adam Moustapha, the coordinator of CADELAC, took the stage in the presence of local leaders to deliver a heartfelt message. He began by conveying deep condolences to the families of victims from the recent Barka Tollorom attacks, where innocent lives were lost to violence. His words reflected both grief and resolve as he praised the extraordinary sacrifices made by the FDS to uphold peace and stability in the Lake Province.
Highlighting the community’s role in countering extremism, Moustapha emphasized the youth’s commitment to vigilance and collective action. « Our solidarity is not just symbolic—it is a promise to stand firm beside those who defend our homes, » he declared, underscoring a shared determination to protect the region’s future.
A modest yet powerful gesture of unity
CADELAC’s contribution, though small in scale, carried immense symbolic weight. The organization presented five 50-kilogram bags of rice alongside ten cartons of pasta to the FDS. This donation, Moustapha explained, embodies the resilience and dedication of the Lake’s youth to bolster the efforts of security personnel safeguarding the province.
The act serves as a reminder that in the face of adversity, community-driven initiatives can strengthen the resolve of those on the front lines. It also signals a broader message: that the fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility, uniting every segment of society in a common cause.
