The agro-industrial park, spearheaded by Sadio Mané through his SM10 Agro initiative, represents a major financial commitment. With an investment of 11.7 billion CFA francs, the project aims to transform local agricultural products, particularly mangoes. The laying of the first stone officially launched construction in the footballer’s native village.
Driving agricultural transformation and job creation
The future complex is designed to boost mango processing capacity in the region. Promoters announce an annual processing capacity of 8,500 tonnes and the creation of over 1,000 direct jobs, with a target of 2,500 jobs ultimately. This initiative seeks to enhance the value of local agricultural output and stimulate economic activity in Sédhiou.
