Ouagadougou and Rome have further cemented their long-standing friendship and cooperation during the 80th anniversary celebration of the Italian Republic. The commemorative event, held on the evening of June 2, 2026, at the Italian embassy in Ouagadougou, brought together Burkinabè officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and Italian nationals.
The Burkinabè delegation was led by Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The gathering was a moment of reflection, unity, and celebration of the deep historical ties between Burkina Faso and Italy.

During the event, Gabriele Di Muzio, Italy’s ambassador to Burkina Faso, highlighted the strength of bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. He underscored Italy’s commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in stabilization efforts, humanitarian assistance, and socioeconomic development.
« Our mission in Burkina Faso is driven by a commitment to serve the Burkinabè people. We believe in a lasting partnership built on shared values and mutual respect », he stated.

In her address, Kabré/Kaboré conveyed the greetings of Burkina Faso’s President and people to the Italian community. She praised the vitality of a cooperation rooted in solidarity, mutual trust, and a shared dedication to fostering development.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the abundant investment opportunities available in Burkina Faso across key sectors. She encouraged Italian business operators to take advantage of the government’s facilitation measures to deepen economic exchanges and business partnerships between the two nations.
