Gabon regulators and Meta resume talks on social media suspension

The future of social media in Gabon took center stage at a major digital regulation conference in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. From June 1 to 3, 2026, Germain Ngoyo Moussavou, President of the High Authority of Communication (HAC), joined the Abidjan 2 conference, organized by the African Regulators’ Network for Communication (RIARC) and the Francophone Media Regulators Network (REFRAM). The event brought together regulators, digital experts, and global platform representatives to address challenges in artificial intelligence, content moderation, and communication freedom.
