Co-leadership introduced at PPA-Côte d’Ivoire
Former Ivorian President and PPA-Côte d’Ivoire leader Laurent Gbagbo has unveiled a significant restructuring of his party’s leadership. In an official statement released this week, he announced the appointment of five key figures to share responsibilities across critical roles within the political formation.
New leadership roles and responsibilities
The restructured leadership comprises four vice-presidents and a strategic council president, each assigned distinct duties aligned with the party’s vision:
- Assoa Adou (First Vice-President, Party Line): Ensures strict adherence to the party’s statutes and internal regulations while aligning all structures with established principles.
- Oulaye Hubert (Second Vice-President, Party Life): Presides over Central Committee sessions, following protocols outlined in the statutes and party guidelines.
- Ackan Emmanuel (Third Vice-President, Party Animation): Energizes political activities, amplifies the party’s outreach, and manages institutional relations under the party’s strategic directives.
- Justin Koné Katinan (Fourth Vice-President, General Policy): Oversees policy development, coordinates implementation, and supervises government program initiatives.
- Sébastien Dano Djedje (President of the Strategic and Political Council): Serves as the party’s chief delegate, responsible for overall management and political guidance.
Vision behind the restructuring
Gbagbo emphasized that this leadership model reflects his commitment to fostering a collaborative governance approach. In his statement, he highlighted that the party’s strength lies not in individual leadership but in the collective efforts of its members and leadership team working toward shared objectives.
The reorganisation was officially announced during the Renaissance Day celebrations in Songon M’Bratté on May 16, where Gbagbo first outlined his vision to enhance the party’s operational efficiency and strategic impact.
