A landmark inauguration took place this Friday, June 26, 2026, under the high patronage of the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame has officially opened the doors of Denky, a significant agro-industrial plant located in Badenkop, within the Bangou district of the Hauts-Plateaux Department in the West Region. This ambitious project aligns perfectly with Cameroon’s national strategy for import substitution and the broader objectives of the SND30 development plan.

Spearheaded by Meta Invest, this initiative represents a major shift toward the local processing of agricultural goods. The opening ceremony was attended by key government figures, including Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Commerce, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Supported by BGFIBank Cameroun, this facility is the third industrial unit established by the young entrepreneur in less than two years.

Lisette Claudia Tame explained that the new factory focuses on the processing of maize, sugar, plantains, and potatoes. Beyond industrial output, the project aims to stimulate local employment, curb rural flight, and enhance the value of Cameroon’s agricultural output. It represents a vital step in using domestic transformation as an engine for national growth.

Operating on a three-hectare plot granted by the state, the factory boasts an annual processing capacity of between 5,200 and over 6,000 tons of local crops. Furthermore, the industrial site is expected to generate between 350 and 550 direct jobs, providing a sustainable alternative for youth in the region and strengthening the local economy.
