New Morocco-Mali vocational training hub inaugurated in Bamako
The Mohammed VI Complex for Vocational Training in Bamako has officially been handed over to Malian authorities, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Mali. This state-of-the-art facility, covering 5,200 square meters, was built through the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development and is designed to address critical labor market needs in key economic sectors.
Training programs tailored to market demands
The new complex will welcome up to 1,000 trainees annually across 21 specialized programs, divided between 12 dedicated to Building and Public Works (BTP) and 9 focused on hospitality, tourism, and catering. The curriculum emphasizes practical skill development, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on experience to ensure graduates are immediately employable upon completion.
A strategic partnership for youth empowerment
During the inauguration ceremony, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita highlighted that this initiative reflects King Mohammed VI’s commitment to African youth development. He emphasized that the project embodies Morocco’s vision of South-South cooperation, built on solidarity and knowledge sharing to foster sustainable human development across the continent.
Malian Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Vocational Training Oumou Sall Seck conveyed the profound gratitude of President Assimi Goita to the Moroccan monarch. She underscored that this investment directly supports Mali’s strategic priorities by strengthening human capital in sectors vital to economic growth, including infrastructure and tourism.
Building bridges through vocational education
The establishment of this training complex strengthens the long-standing historical and fraternal ties between Morocco and Mali. By equipping young Malians with market-ready skills, the project aims to reduce youth unemployment while contributing to the broader economic development of the region.
