Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé rallies over 700 investors for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé at the helm. This session, dedicated entirely to investors, marks a pivotal moment in mobilizing private sector support for Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development roadmap.

The Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in accelerating the country’s economic growth. « This gathering represents a milestone in our journey toward economic transformation, » he stated. « We are delighted to welcome over 700 international investors who have traveled from friendly nations to participate in this dialogue that will shape our shared future. »

Addressing a room packed with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, Beugré Mambé highlighted the importance of collaboration between government and private actors. « Your confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential speaks volumes about our nation’s resilience, » he noted. « Together, we can build a more competitive economy that generates sustainable employment opportunities. »

Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience draws global investors

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the backbone of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. With an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, the country has demonstrated remarkable adaptability amid global challenges, solidifying its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« This is an economy in full expansion, » Beugré Mambé declared. « Today’s discussions will focus on accelerating investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, and strategic infrastructure development in transport, digital technology, and logistics. » He also stressed the need to invest in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The first day of the Consultative Group, which targeted institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders.

Private sector leaders pledge massive financial commitments

Representatives from key business confederations and international financial institutions echoed the Prime Minister’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the African Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s development plan. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030 through targeted investments.
