A high-level Vietnamese parliamentary delegation attended the 51st General Assembly of the Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly (APF) held in Yaoundé, Cameroun, on July 9. The event convened over 350 delegates, including nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents of member parliaments, representatives of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), diplomatic missions, and international organizations.
The opening session, marked by solemnity, brought together key figures such as the President of the Cameroun Senate, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Economic and Social Council, and Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the OIF. The assembly provided a platform for discussions on pressing global challenges facing the Francophone Community, including governance, democracy, economic development, social affairs, culture, and environmental sustainability.
The agenda emphasized strengthening parliamentary cooperation and fostering collaborative solutions to shared issues. The Vietnamese delegation played an active role in the proceedings, contributing to debates and reinforcing diplomatic ties within the Francophonie framework.
