Surrounded by high-ranking dignitaries and moved family members, the 895 recruits from the 2024 and 2025 Water, Forestry, and Hunting classes, as well as the 2025 Republican Police class, were presented to the national flag. This powerful event marks the conclusion of their initial common training and solidifies their commitment to protecting the Nation’s security and environmental assets.

The ceremony was held under the leadership of the Ministers of Interior and Public Security and National Defense. The highest levels of the Beninese security hierarchy attended the event, including the Chief of General Staff of the Beninese Armed Forces and the Director General of the Republican Police.

During his opening remarks, the center’s commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Armand Assogbaga, highlighted the deep symbolic meaning of this ritual, which represents a final break from civilian life. He emphasized to the new agents that standing before the flag is not a mere formality but a call for iron discipline, courage, and total devotion to the homeland.

The highlight of the day was the formal presentation of the national colors, a solemn gesture marking the official entry of these young men and women into the defense and security forces. This was immediately followed by the traditional awarding of the fourragère. This military distinction honors months of intensive physical and tactical training, confirming their new roles as defenders of the law and guardians against contemporary security and environmental threats.
