The Supreme Court in N’Djamena is under heavy guard today as units from the national defense, gendarmerie, and police forces secure the premises.
Entry to the court’s compound is tightly controlled, with journalists and camera crews denied access to the hearing chamber.
The proceedings unfold in a modest room, shielded from public view. At the center of the case is a legal showdown between the Supreme Court president and a team of nearly a dozen defense attorneys representing Dr. Succès Masra, leader of the Les Transformateurs party.
This hearing marks the examination of a cassation appeal filed by Masra’s legal team against the August 9, 2025 ruling from the criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal, which imposed a 20-year prison sentence.
