The women of the Lake region in Chad are standing shoulder to shoulder with the nation’s defense and security forces following a surge in violence attributed to Boko Haram. On Friday, May 22, 2026, a delegation from the Provincial Women’s Network gathered in Baga-Sola to pledge unwavering support for those safeguarding the region from terrorist threats.

Led by the network’s president, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, the group met with the Government Delegate to the Lake Province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the Baga-Sola headquarters. Their message was unequivocal: a call for unity and a demonstration of solidarity with the troops battling extremism along the shores of Lake Chad.

Achta Adoum Abdoulaye took the opportunity to commend the tireless efforts of military and administrative authorities in restoring security and stability across the province. She condemned the recent terrorist attacks that have resulted in the loss of lives among the defense forces, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Chad as a whole.

To turn words into action, the delegation presented a donation of essential food supplies to the soldiers actively deployed in the conflict zones. This gesture underscores the women’s commitment to reinforcing the operational capacity of the forces on the ground.

In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the women’s initiative as a powerful display of patriotism. He emphasized the vital role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism, calling their support a cornerstone of national unity.
